In the Fall of 2014, I created an Undergraduate Research Learning Community through the Honors College that focused on Positive Communications. The course was a general education COMM 112 course but was paired with a COMM 302 – Research Methods course. Participants came together once a month to discuss research and the research process. At the end of the semester, the COMM 112 students helped evaluate the research proposals put together by the COMM 302 students. Throughout the COMM 112 course, students practiced positive communications through journaling, observational papers, and group discussions.
